So far I have been impressed with the general publics awareness of the magnitude of that day. I think as a whole we still reflect and remember the terrible thoughts we all felt. I wish we bid a better job realizing that the decisions and polices we make today will either prevent or facilitate the next 9/11..... whatever that may be.
I remember it, still, like it was yesterday... I got up to go to class, and caught the news just as the second plane hit. I watched until I was late for class then left... 10 minutes later I couldn't stand being there, so I came back... Watched the news all morning long. About 1:00, I couldn't take it anymore, so I jumped in the car and dove to my Cabin 1.5hrs away in WI. Walked the woods, just trying to process everything. I drove back late that night. Watched more news... I remember feeling so helpless. You know, there was nothing I could do. Then I drew this.... It was all I could do. I pray that nothing like that happens again! God bless all who lost their lives, and those that were able to really help. That includes all who have or are currently serving (Military, FD, PD, etc...) God Bless you all!
wow great drawing fitz, i was in my music class and when it happened we all stoped and we watched the news all hour and half way through the next.
You know I really do wish we had a leader right now that would give us the feeling of security that Bush did when this tradgedy occured. Put Bush's shortcomings aside, the day after 9.11 we had a leader who locked this country down and was willing to do whatever it took to keep us safe. Regardless of party affiliation, the majority of the country felt the same way....protected, and as one. Sadly, we as a country are anything but that now. It feels as if we are more divided than ever, and we have a leader who is deeply concerned about giving rights to the 9.11 masterminds, and seeing it as almost fashonable to side with terrorists. His radical agenda bastardizes everything this country stands for, especially our precious freedoms. I love this country, and hope it's people start to see more clearly. I will never forget... a memorable clip... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evb489N11Q4
