I think I'm going fishing this afternoon. Looks like we may get our first Sept cold front Wednesday and Thurs next week and I'll definitely make a move on some deer then. But I'd love to get a 2 man limit of some crappie for the freezer before summer is completely gone.

I'm super excited to put this stand and sticks to use this season! It was an investment but it should last forever. Total weight with all straps is 16.5 Lbs.

It is hot here. I doubt I'll get out much here until next Wednesday when it is supposed to cool off a lot. Am I the only one on the team whose season is open? Can't remember.

Good luck. Does anyone ever use the vine technique. I tried one last year and had little bucks smell it. This year I put one out last weekend and I checked it today. Have a little one checking it out. And then a big one. I’m pretty impressed with it this year. Hope I can kill one over it.

Got in about 15 minutes ago. What a disaster. Haven’t been to this stand since early summer. Forgot my headlamp so walking through the swamp blind was great. Get to my tree and realize I left my backpack at the side by side… with my bow rope in it. Climbing this oak one handed and in the dark was interesting to say the least.

39 degrees with 0 wind. Opening day lets go!

10 total deer seen. Most were a ways off. Had 2 does with fawns in range but passed them. Watched 2 coyotes chase each other around the neighbors hay field. Not sure if I’ll be out this afternoon or not.

Hopefully you get all healed up quickly. Can't really get excited about hunting in this heat here, but Wednesday I'll be out morning and evening most likely.

Just to give you all a sense of what you can expect for my contribution to the team…..

I went for a walk this morning in my hunting area and found more Mylar balloons (2), than acorn, (1).

That would be frustrating. Supposedly wherever you find those balloons is where big bucks bed. Idk how true that is, but silver linings and all...
