Seen the first hard horn deer of the year last night driving around. I haven’t practiced out of a tree stand in a while. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Headed back to MO tomorrow. Actually had a better visit than I was anticipating and my folks are doing alright. Had a few stressful days, but the last couple days have been really good. Can't wait to get home and start some serious hunting prep. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Tomorrow is elk opener but If I come across a buck it could become a deer hunt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I dream of the day I can post something like that. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hey guys. I'm house sitting my parents house this week and have been long distance scouting from the porch. There's a ton of deer in these parts. Getting my two for points shouldn't be an issue.
Nice! Always good to see a target rich environment. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Back home. Bow shop will have my new strings and cables on Wednesday and I won't be picking them up. It's opening day. I almost called the guy a water head on the phone. They're good guys and I'm only kidding. Good to be back home. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Spent some time shooting new arrows with my broadheads tonight. 20 and 30 pins were good, but that added weight has my 40 pin all kinds of low. Ran out of daylight, but my neighbor gave me a beer, so not a total loss. I'll get her dialed in tomorrow just in time for opening day. Then I'll have to do it all again with new strings Thursday. Hopefully it won't be too bad tho. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
One final cam check here in the next day or 2 and freshen up the mock scrapes before I'm in a tree Saturday morning!
I did some shooting this weekend. I have no idea what is going on. I’m good at 30 but and 40 I’m way off. I will never shoot a deer a 40. It was just frustrating. How good are your guys groups at this distances. It’s hard to see the dot at 40. Maybe I should put a paper plate on the target Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Shooting broadheads? Without a lot of info, I would say it is possibly a tune issue that is being exposed by the distance. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
My problem past 35 is I can’t really see the target I’m shooting at. 35 I’m usually dead on or in a 1 1/2 inch group. Past that I just can’t see clearly enough to make a good shot. I have bad eyes tho. Need to get me some contacts I feel like I’d shoot really good then. If your shooting good at 30 and in. I wouldn’t stress abt it until after season and then get to the bottom of it Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I wear glasses and it still hard to see the target clearly. That picture is with field points Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
