Checked a camera on a small private piece that I can hunt this year. Really just looking for a doe at this spot but have a couple decent bucks there as well. Also bought a bat wing to replace that V bracket on my older lone wolf alpha 2. The stand was already out so I changed it out in the tree only to discover that the back of the seat hits the wing bracket and does not allow it to come down. Oh well, I guess I will be standing. I'll have to remedy that after the season.
Nice looking bucks! If you have them somewhat patterned early, you might get a shot. When is your opener? Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
The 18th. We will see if that 10 pointer gets me going if I see him. I've taken 3 deer of that caliber over the years so I'm trying to take it to the next level but we will see
Awesome. You won't hear any judgements out of me. Shoot what makes you happy. But it is nice to have options. You a one buck state? Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'm 2 hours south of Longville. Foley, MN. I've been to many lakes in the Longville area. Great fishing on Woman, Wabado, and Boy lakes!
I've been busy as a puppy with 2 peckers here. Glad this is going on now and not in October. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Yea I love it up there. I didn’t get to go this year bc of deployment and my second child’s birth but next year we are going for at least 2 weeks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

9 days until our opener. I'm not sure if I will be taking a doe early season or not yet. I tend to wait until a bit later in the year. It's supposed to be warm and I still have a rut stand that's on a drainage ditch... Might just go sit in that and see if they hit the water. We have had an incredible drought this summer and it was dried up at one point but we did get some decent rains recently so who knows.
That is a nice walleye. Sorry I haven’t been on here much. Life’s been little busy. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Does anyone else practice in the summer out of a treestand? My buddy and I have been doing that for the past month and I find it to be very helpful. I have a Rinehart buck and we move that thing all around at different yardages. Tonight we brought it in to 10 yards and it's always good to see how your arrow penetrates at that angle. I did a lot two years ago. My best season as far as accuracy. I was 5/5 on deer that year. Didn’t have the time to last year and it showed. Missed two deer and shoulder shot a buck, never recovered, but he is alive. Heartbreaker of a season. Definitely helps alot gets me used to bending at the waist and such Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
