Wait a minute....I thought you died?

Do you really think this is going to cause a crime wave of blue haired women whacking garden pests? Personally, I think what happens at home should stay at home.

Wow, I am glad bowhunting.com has a little different perspective on this one. I've already discussed this topic on another thread and was starting to worry about hunters in general.

The old lady missed out on a good tenderloin & eggs breakfast, not condoning I'm just sayin.

I guess I'm the outcast around here who thinks beating a fawn to death with a shovel is ignorant. That's fine..

I guess I'm an outcast as well.... bashing a baby deers head in with a shovel just rubs me the wrong way, maybe I'm crazy, maybe I just love animals too much.

Its a pretty sad day in age when people will defend a lady smashing a 25 lb fawns head in with a shovel.

Who cares Jeff, honestly, she didn't kill a squirrel, she killed a baby deer. You can "what if" all that you want, but it doesn't change the fact that she killed a baby DEER!

I think the old lady is a poacher myself. Arrest her for poaching. Besides she should have "let him go to let him grow".

Maybe she was doing her part to get the buck to doe ratio more in line. We'll never know if her goal was to kill a doe, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't to let him grow.

Well, if she wants to be a mature buck hunter she needs to let the young ones go so they can grow.

While I do think there were probably other ways for her to handle it, I also don't think she is some monster for killing an animal in her garden. It just so happens it was a deer had it been a groundhog, a possum, a raccoon, a mole, a rabbit or something along those lines you wouldn't have heard squat about it.

I believe she should be charged with her misdemeanor and fined and call it a day.

It's not about loving animals(or species of animals really). I love my dog like family I feel differently about most other animals(including deer)I respect them and enjoy hunting them but I don't get carried away.

I do love them dipped in buttermilk and deep fried then served over a bed of homemade mashed potatoes and gravy with acouple of biscuits, now that I do love.

I love in the comment section the post about this being the most tragic fawn incident since Fawn Lebowitz died in the kiln explosion. God I love that movie. Seriously though all she would have had to of done was push it with the shovel and it would have taken off...
