I'll be that guy. I'm going to say no way in hell that's a 600#+ bear. ..

As for the original bear. BS!

Looks like a 600# bear to me.
The zoo in Springfield MO, back a number of years ago, had a 600#+ black bear in captivity that I watched for some time. A 600# bear just isn't as big as many folks would think (or like to think). Sure they are big animals but they don't look like a comparison between a 7 year old buck and a button either.
Of course I tend to take people at their word rather than call them liars but that's just me.

Based by that fact that it's based on measurements... I still stay way under 600#. People tend to grossly over estimate bears. It takes a hell of a bear to make 200# let alone 3x that.

Sure, weight estimated just on measurments is sketchy.
Either way that guys bear is a helluva bear and so is the one in the OP. If folks want to know the weight of an animal it should be weighed.

My bear dressed at 183 so a little over 200 walking around say and these ones are substantially bigger....the "646" looks approximately 3x the size mine is when comparing pics so I dont think its far off

My bear was weighed on a scale that maxed out at 500lbs. That was after field dressing and we couldn't find a bigger scale. So it was definetly over 500 live weight. 6'7" nose to tail with 60" girth.
