In other words...............NY hunting in December :)

The brutal run of weather has not stopped............from archery to now has been nasty 80+% of the days we have been out.

I won't lie............it was tough getting out of bed and looking and the snow funnel clouds swirling in the field. We have hunted looooooooong and hard this year, who knows how many hours in the field.

My brother and I shared a deep conversation staring at each other through the steam of our coffee cups and never saying a word.............each kinda hoping the other might cave and opt for returning to the warm covers which we would certainly pretend to reluctantly agree LOL

I grabbed my boots and my stubborn brother called my bluff ;)

Off we went and our hard headed nature paid off with just an amazing day in the woods.............multiple stalks in the soft piled snow netted us a couple more mature does. Not sure how we didn't freeze to death as we field dressed mine and left her to return later and when we did she was frozen solid.

Deer 8 and 9 for us this year on a wonderful, albeit nasty day to hit the woods.

Proof to the world that my brother actually gutted a deer (inside joke).

    Congrats.

I was out for an evening hunt yesterday. The wind was blowing, snow was on the ground, and I was cold. A hand full of does came out late and 80 yards from my location. I'm going to grab my LW mobile unit this afternoon and set up 60 or so yards down the tree line. I hope to be in a better position tonight to arrow some fresh meat.

I got to give you credit for getting out there. That or you are insane. Crawling out of bed for deer #8 &9 in those conditions would not happen for me. I am at 4 and am all but in cruise control from here on out. I can still get 3 more.

When you add in the wind, that doesn't sound like that much fun.

Thanks for sharing, pictures are always great!

I bowhunted in 8 degree temps once.........who knows what the windchill was. I remember saying I was gonna hunt until 11:00. I was laughing about that statement at 9:00 back at the cabin :)

COULD??.......4 with my own tags but NY now lets anyone sign doe tags over to another hunter to use so I guess there is no limit as long as you are in the correct management unit.

    HAVE??........4..........2 bow and 2 gun

    I hear that.

I'm lucky to have standing corn and beans around the farm...they are hitting it HARD.

Took the night off tonight, hadn't been seeing anything in a spot I've been hunting the last 2 nights and needed a break..wouldn't you know there were deer standing in front of the gorilla blind when I drove by....

    Congrats on the deer!!

Damn snow sissys. Suck it up and move on.. We get snow and we survive. We still eat, hunt, ice fish, and chase wicked women. So it snowed on your parade. Did you expect anything different. LOL
