my wife has a new Hoyt carbon turbo, she pulls 52-55lbs. What would be the best fixed blade for her to shoot? I've always shot the slick trick and muzzy and really liked them. I am pulling 70lbs though.

Cut on Contact... like a Magnus Snuffer or. Montac G5. Chisel points poke a hole but you want to cut. When I started bow hunting 40 years ago I used Bear Razorheads 145 gr sharpened till they would shave. My old recurve was 45 lbs and shooting wooden shafts would pass all the way through. Now I use Magnus Snuffer SS 125 gr on all my arrows and bolts... easy to keep very sharp and come with a warranty should you break one.

I love slick tricks, but I would go with Magnus stingers in this case.

If the slick trick is the 1" 1/8 cut ok? Or the smaller 1 inch cut.

anything less than 60# I'd shoot a CoC. Magnus, Muzzy, Solid, even Carbon Express makes a Solid clone that would do the trick nice for a very nice price.

I love Slicks but I prefer 2 holes vs. 1 hole. I'm pushing 70# and in penetration tests I get noticeably less depth with Slicks vs. any CoC I've ever shot.

I talked to the original owner before he died and he always told me the standard is the best head he makes. You always get two holes and it was designed to work on larger game

If it was me, 1st choice would be Magnus stingers, 2nd slick trick standard, and 3rd ST magnums. At the end of the day...it prolly don't matter. just make a good shot.

Check out VPA's also, both the two blade and 3 blade versions are great options.

Not so much the broadheads you use as a well placed shot will do the trick. shot placement is key

The Slick Trick Standard 100 Grain 1" cut will have better penetration.

My top two choices for that setup (very similar to what my son is currently shooting) in no particular order would be the Slick Trick Standard or Wasp Drone.

Slick trick viper trick is cut on contact. My dad is using pulling 49 pounds for elk. Fly well. So do montec G5 which are also cut on contact. As others have said, get something COC.

The wife shoots between 50-55# been getting pass through with snuffers, but any COC broadhead like Hellrazor or G5 Montec should do the trick.

My wife has gotten complete pass throughs on everything she has shot with Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts. A good COC head will by far be the best bet.

I ordered her the Magnus stingers, could not decide between them or the Magnus stinger buzz cut. Opted for the standard ones.

that "slug holes" advertisement will full penetration on African game including a giraffe was the reason I tried the slicktrick standard after shoulder surgery and dropping poundage. After 6 years have no complaints. Plus the added bonus of replaceable blades that are substantial enough to be easily resharpened to hair shaving sharpness.
