I hear this question on the occasional interview and thought it would be cool to see what you guys would choose.

So the question is, what $50 or less (or $100) hunting related item have you bought in the last two years that you would recommend to a friend?

Try to keep it serious and not the obvious choices.

Evercalm herd in a stick would be my recommendation for the hunter who likes to try different scents.

Gas money to go walk and scout new land. Most effective use of $50 I can think of.

Discounted KUIU merino wool base layer 1/4 zip shirts bought in the Spring. Last years for 65% off. I rarely will hunt with a shirt that doesn't unzip anymore. Really lets air out to cool off while walking and can close up nice once cooled down. Regulates temperature much better than I ever thought it would.

I bought 1/4 zip ones for hunting and a couple non zip ones just to wear. Really comfortable and actually fit me well for being tall. Not short on the arms.

Thermacell and/or a PEET's boot dryer. My boot dryer is hands down the best investment I've made. I have 7 year old boots that still smell newish.

    In no particular order:

    A good, American-made knife
    Ozone Generator
    Iris Weather-Tight Tote
Cotton-Free Clothing (Most people don't realize how terrible cotton is in cold weather)

Problem is one of those isn't gonna get you much!

I have 4 now and plan on applying next year. We'll see if that gets me anywhere or not. May need 1-2 more yet.

you can probably draw an archery tag for something like unit 45 with 6 or 7 preference points, decent access and some Ok bulls.
