That's a 1st, 5 weeks with cams in 2 prime spots for the rut and 1 deer on either cam. Dejected isn't the word, I was in the bush for 3 hours making mock scrapes and the bush is so thick for all the rain that the nettles are 8 feet high. I was on my arse a lot and the misquitos were the worst I've seen in my life. Almost every second breath I swallowed 2 or 3. Didn't have to eat when I got home, LMAO. I know the property I'm spotlighting is for the rut and that's usually what I spotlight. The 60 acre parcel is surrounded on all 4 sides by prime food sources. I'm thinking the deer are eating some where else for the time. Man it's like a jungle in there ,he did use the mock scrape spot to pass in front off the camera though. Now one more spot to put them in before the season opens in September. I'm taking them of off video too and putting it on 3 picture bursts. That's the longest I've had the Primos out for at a time on the batteries and they lasted the 5 weeks.62 videos on 1 and 58 on the other of mostly windy conditions setting off the video. Hopefully I'll be bringing them in next time as I drag a deer out. Rocky
Ahh the joys of being in the woods in the summer. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Blessings......Pastorjim
:pJim In this circumstance I think you would? I have never been in a position where I felt I needed out,but that was very close as the skeeters were up my nostrils ,in my ears and eye's . The only other place I have had an encounter like this was in northern Ontario fishing 5 miles back in the bush for brook trout. A cloud of black flies left there mark on me when I was a youngster. I left my stringer of brookies connected to the root of a tree in the stream as I ran the 5 miles back out of the bush. 40 years later I still laugh at the moment. Rocky:p
