we check our cameras fairly regularly and see our resident does on camera within 20 minutes after we leave most of the time.
off season we leave a little deer candy (corn) behind as a trear for putting up with us.

also most of our cameras are on path to stand so we'll pull while to and from stand while hunting

Been doing cameras since they came out. Trail timers before that and sewing thread before that. (Showing my age)
I ride walk or ride my four wheeler to my cams in the middle of the day. They are use to it and they hear me come and go. A little scent they smell might help later if I'm hunting and they smell it again. Desensitizing to my scent. I can have deer check out what I'm doing within 10 mins. I will check cameras during hunting hours if I'm walking by them anyway. Sneaking in to check out cameras put deer on high alert. I could tell some stories about this.
I can think of five better mistakes than that.
