    Amen to this. I didn't decide to really hunt public until late summer and did zero scouting. While I am having fun and learning a lot the one thing I wish I did differently was scout during the off season. You need to have a lot of options depending on wind, access and most importantly pressure from other hunters. Right now I think I figure one spot out, then show up to find someone in it. Plan B becomes aimlessly wandering around looking for another spot to hunt instead of actually hunting.

    I feel like I have done a good job scouting online and with a short walk around last weekend. I am going to try a spot that I did not scout in person last weekend because I had my sons with me and it was too far of a walk in the heat for them. Hoping the online scouting looks as good in person as it does online. I have a few back up spots planned just in case.
