Solid. I'll add one more or expand on the first. Don't underestimate rest to recovery. To this point the shelter is just part of your sleep system. I include a comfortable and warm bag/quilt & pad. Compactness, weight, fill material, temp rating and shape of a pad, bag or quilt may also be good considerations for a comfortable outing. Just remember temp ratings don't necessarily equate to comfort.
The #1 thing you won't properly prepare for is being alone. Your mind will mess with you if you're doing a solo hunt. Missing family, unfamiliar land, predators, etc. As insignificant as some of the stuff is, you'll overthink it all and try to talk yourself out of the hunt. None of the other stuff will matter if you don't pull it together within the first day or two.
Another good one! Mental toughness can also help keep you going when your lungs or legs are telling you otherwise; help you over that next ridge; etc.
About to get on Amazon and pull together that last bit of gear I need. A great topic, thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
