Looks like Pa is going to have 5 days of Bear Archery Season this coming year, though out the whole state.

    Rob/Pa kill that 3 legged Bear:eek:

That is a welcome suprise, but in my area, it is still nearly pointless... unless you have a large group of guys that have access to the large blocks of timber and you can do some serious drives. I know their is a bear hanging out in my hunting area, and I decided not to purchase a tag this season... if he/she is still around this coming fall, I may actually get a tag and hope for a miracle!

Its a step in the right direction. I hope someday we can buy a bear tag and use it all archery season. We have a bunch around but i have no desire to shoot one with a gun for some reason and getting a shot in that few day season would be like winning the lottery.

I thought you guys had a bear season, already (3 days?)?

Or....is the issue that you can't shoot them during deer season?

For me, the issue is hunting them during deer season. I have no time during the currant 3 day season (tues. wed. thurs. the week before thanksgiving).

There is a 3 day season for rifle. In a few UMA they had it opened for an additional 6 days in the firearms season of deer season. Here recently they have had an archery season for 2 days and now it looks like they are going to open it up to a 5 day archery season.

If it's the week following our regular archery season, I'm in cause I'm off. I may have to buy my first ever PA bear license. :D

Unless they run it concurrent with our existing archery deer season, or my company decides they want to give me 7 weeks off per year, it's not likely that i will get to participate.
