We're extremely blessed to have some great neighbors, and we usually end up all pitching in four or five times a year to have a neighborhood get-together... the 4th was a pretty good excuse! One of the main courses ready and waiting... Well, until the kiddos discovered them. I've told them not to play with their food... Matthew showing off his favorites before adding them to the pot... And in they go... this is Randy, my next-door neighbor who's an awesome cook! Setting the spread up across the street the other direction... Larry and Jo's house sits perfect to provide shade from about 3 o'clock on... Yes, Brad... we thought of you. Lots of alligator, shrimp, catfish, hushpuppies ... some VERY spicy corn and potatoes... watermelon, brownies, homemade ice cream, grilled venison burgers, hot dogs... This was my favorite bowl though. Later, the kids started shooting off their massive collection... Look at the mailbox... can you guess who's house Matthew is in front of now? All in all ... one of the very best 4th of July celebrations we've ever had...
Food looks delicious! The pictures of the kids remind me of a 4th of July I experienced when I was about that age. I picked up the wrong end of my sparkler. Good times.
Greg, Well done. Not only did you have the essentials taken care of in the cooler, you had some pretty good accessories to go with it. Love the peel and eat shrimp. We had K-bobs and while very good. Nothing compared to what you guys had.
To be fair... this was all my neighbor Randy's doings... if it'd been up to us, we would have smoked a bunch of burgers, hot dogs and perhaps some brats. I'm getting spoiled since he moved in next door.
