Dude, that is a dream I have been chasing most of my adult life. Couldn't be happier for you and your dad. Man I would love to see the look in my dads eye standing over a buck like that.

Congrats again, talk about earning it LOL.

Looks bigger then 125 in that pic.

    great deer, great story.
I can relate - my old man did all the same things for me over the years, but never shot a buck bigger than a 4 point (or recovered, anyway, thanks to an a-hole property owner that wouldn't let us track a nice 10 point onto his property about 15 years ago.)

Anyway, finally, four seasons ago, after 40+ seasons of hunting, he nailed a 167" (net) 12 point.
I will never forget the look on his face. I've never been happier for anyone in my life. I think it's great you get to tell his story on here and also give me an opportunity to relive/re-tell my own father/son moment. I don't know how many more seasons the old man has left in him, as his hands are pretty much shot w/ arthritis, but that's OK because I'll always have that memory of him with those mitts wrapped around those horns!

PS - I also think he looks bigger than 125. Maybe that's what he'll net, but I'm thinking over 130.

Wow, congrats to both of you! That is a beautiful buck.

Im also saying its in the 130s. My friend shot a buck a couple of years back that's very similar and his scored 134ish.

Thanks, everyone! It's definitely going to be a day I won't forget.

I'll tape it out here in a few days and see. I honestly am just guessing at this point, but you guys may be right. Either way, I just can't get over the size for our area. Both body and rack. Just a true trophy in every sense of the word.

Really cool Matt. It's neat how I think us kids are as happy for our dad's to get a deer now like they were for us to get them when we were young

    Thanks, everyone!

Ryan, it's funny how that works. He still admits he would rather see me shoot one than him, but I know he's been wanting a deer like this for a long time. I'm actually glad he shot it and I never had a chance to.

Well he took it to the taxi after all. Ben/PA saw it there and told me, lol. Looks like I have to wait a while to score it now :(
