I participated in the great American boat parade today on Lake Lanier in North Georgia today, DNR estimated 4000 boats !!!! It was incredible to say the least., the parade rout was 7 miles long , made a u turn and 7 miles back down the lake, There was a 5 Knot speed limit to avoid the problems like they had in Texas yesterday. WE started near the rear of the pack and by the time we got under way boats were already making the u turn at the 7 mile mark. Heres a few pics I took
it was very rough water in Texas due to high winds ... some boats were swamped and 'prolly shouldnt have been out ... glad you made yours safely ... MAGA !!
That is a lot of boats! There have been smaller parades around here in MN but nothing like that. I can’t imagine what the public accesses were like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
this lake has 50k private docks 1000s of marina slips on it, home of the 2 largest inland marinas in the world, 38000+ acres of water and 700 miles of shoreline, its Atlanta and N Ga's playground . We call it the Gulf of Atlanta on the weekends, its crazy
I could not be part of that, there are far too many stupid boat owners that have little to no understanding of the rules of navigating the waters.
