After driving 3 hours on Friday to get to my turkey hunting grounds I put up with 40 MPH winds all day Saturday. I came home Saturday night after listening to a weather forcast calling for more of the same for Sunday. I saw 2 hens on Saturday and thats it. I heard one bird gobble on the roost, and he was on another property and he shut up just after sunrise.
There was not a drop of water on the property,(550 acres), due to the prolonged drought that has hit the area. So I'm sure that was no help. I have to find someplace closer to home to turkey hunt. Its just not worth the drive.

Sorry to hear that Greg. The wind made for some tough hunting this weekend (or so I've heard)

Yea these spring winds are getting a little bit old. The chill factor here sucked this morning.

    Awesome

We got the cops called on us for peeing in a pasture beside the beer store, almost got in a fight because some random guy thought we spit in his beer, we made the local news paper, I got beaten by some lovely young women with my own belt and buckle (still got the brusies to prove it), oh......and I woke up with a pair of panties in my pocket:huh: (not to sure how they got there)

bummer, sorry to hear that didn't pan out for you. It does suck when you put forth the time & effort and the weather gets in the way.
