After driving 3 hours on Friday to get to my turkey hunting grounds I put up with 40 MPH winds all day Saturday. I came home Saturday night after listening to a weather forcast calling for more of the same for Sunday. I saw 2 hens on Saturday and thats it. I heard one bird gobble on the roost, and he was on another property and he shut up just after sunrise. There was not a drop of water on the property,(550 acres), due to the prolonged drought that has hit the area. So I'm sure that was no help. I have to find someplace closer to home to turkey hunt. Its just not worth the drive.
Awesome We got the cops called on us for peeing in a pasture beside the beer store, almost got in a fight because some random guy thought we spit in his beer, we made the local news paper, I got beaten by some lovely young women with my own belt and buckle (still got the brusies to prove it), oh......and I woke up with a pair of panties in my pocket:huh: (not to sure how they got there)
bummer, sorry to hear that didn't pan out for you. It does suck when you put forth the time & effort and the weather gets in the way.
