October is great. But still less great than November no matter how you slice it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Personally speaking, I've had more reliable big buck encounters during the last week of October than any other time of the year. November can be feast or famine and while it tends to bring more excitement in terms of running, chasing, grunting, etc - IMO you can't find a better time to kill a buck than late October.
I agree. Ive gotten more aggressive in late Oct and my buck sightings and shots have gone way up. Give me a late Oct cold front all day. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I’ve killed more bucks between October 18-25 than any other time. Split pretty evenly between morning and evenings. The morning bucks were all mountain bucks and they showed up late around 9-10am. The evening bucks were all woodlot/farm bucks and were right at last light.
Agreed... I absolutely love late October hunting. But some of the early October days really suck by me.
Early October is a lot like November in that it can be feast or famine. If you're really on top of deer and you get the right weather, you can have some great hunts. But if you're a little bit off or the weather doesn't cooperate, it can really suck.
While I love hunting late October and have killed a few big bucks during that time period, most of my big buck kills have happened in November. November 4-12 has seen most of my big buck kills. On a different note, most all of my biggest buck sightings have been from November 22 through December 15.
VA is gonna get a good cold front this Fri into Sat. Some bucks will hit the deck. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
