Yesterday I went to a new friend's place for a "3D" shoot. This was only my third shoot. On the first shot, which was 40 yards, I flinched and sent an arrow sailing just over the target. It buried in a huge oak tree. I got the arrow out but it left the insert and point in the tree and the arrow had a 1" split. :(

The second target was 2 shots at 45 yards and two at 35 yards. My first shot from 45 yards cut the line on the circle. My second shot was identical in every way to the first shot and you know what that means. The sound of my arrow splitting was a sickening sound since I'd already ruined one arrow.

About 7 targets later I drew down on a 60 yard shot but used my 50 yard pin. I was aiming at the bottom dot. The arrow missed low and glanced off the hard baked Tennessee clay and headed south to Mississippi. That's three Gold Tip Pro Hunter 7595 arrows gone in under one hour.

Here's a pic of the second target. You can tell which spot I was shooting.

3D shoots were developed as a conspiracy between proshops and arrow manufacturers to keep themselves in business.

I live in Munford which is about 45 minutes north of Memphis. I have a lease that I'll hunt for the first time about an hour on the other side of you - just north of Linden.
