I am wondering what some of the Etiquette for 3D and Target ranges. I also want to know how Arrow retrieval works in these places. Im a noob and haven't been to one of these places in a really long time.
HAHAHA! It's funny you should ask. I just went for the 1st time last week to a range. Alot of snooby archers there using very expensive Hoyt long bows. It was a little weird because I walked in wearing a camo hat t-shirt and jeans and pulled out my mathews and was immedietly shunned! I was polite and because my buddy had to take a lane several over from mine. I decided I'd befriend my neighbors. BAD IDEA. They both were a couple of ****s. I'd say hello and compliment their bows and they were just complete jerks. They werent hunters, they were competititive archers. If you go I'd reccomend not talking to "those" guys. I went back 4 days later with a few buddies and we owned that place. In fact there were only hunters there, it was awesome! As far as arrow retrieval goes. The place I went had 2 different ranges. 1 was an automatic range. here your target was on a motorized pulley. So you could send your target out send a group down range and then return the target and retrieve your arrows. The other range was a group retrieve range. Everyone would shoot their bows and then when everyone was finished everyone would walk down range together and retrieve their arrows. This range is much more socialable. Here you shoot your arrows and chat with other people who are shooting as fast as you. Either way good times. Have fun.
At the place where I shoot, when everyone is done shooting someone will say "pull" meaning the range is cleared and everyone has set their bows down to go retrieve their arrows
Just ask when you get there. Each range may have some slight variation. I've never been to a range where staff and shooters weren't happy to welcome new shooter.
archery dvd A archery dvd, for instance, may be a cause of harm when used to hit people intentionally or accidentally. In addition, arrow can hurt badly too when these hit sensitive parts of the body or tiny children. Moreover, broken equipment must be put away so that no one may use it anymore.
