I got to thinking about how well my son's bow was shooting through paper so I decided to see how well it would shoot same arrows with broadheads. http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?36478-I-did-NOT-paper-tune-BUT-I-did Now,I will say that his bow is only shooting about 220 fps so broadhead flight will not be nearly as critical as it is at 300. But still impressive imo. I used a 2 blade magnus stinger as the broadhead for all shots.AND all shots were at 20 yards. The .600 spine arrow had a field point in all shots while the other one had a broadhead. The .600 has the yellow and white fletching and is an Easton Axis. .600 with the fmj 500 .600 actually shot the nock off the Easton prohunter .440 The .600 with the Easton Axis .340 The .340 is a little heavier, therefore,a little lower .600 with a 1716 aluminum This one is impressive considering the spine on the 1716 is .880 It did hit a little left on every shot I took with it.
I decided to check my bow. It shoots my .440's 265 fps. Hoyt Carbon Element at 56 1/2# and a 28" draw. My 440 with the 600's My 440 with a bareshaft 440 and a 340 Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
On my son's bow I did find it odd that the 1716 hitting to the left is opposite of what a light spine shaft should do.BUT it is way underspined so there is no telling what was going while getting to the target.
Very interesting results, I never thought the heads would fly that close! (again, lol) I would say the young mans bow is TUNED. good on you.
