$300 Cam with input for mic and zoom controller

My good friend is looking to get into filming, but doesn't want to spend a ton to try it out.

Looking for a cheap handycam type cam with the a/v r input or lanc input, along with an input for an external mic.

Suggestions?

 

Most handycams are not going to run a lanc, most will allow a mic though. Often the mic will require an added bracket though as most won't have a shoe. Good luck on the search.

 

Thanks! After some heavy digging the HDR Cx380 from 2013 will do both with an VMC-AVM1 adapter cable.

And you are also correct on the shoe. Adding a shoe to the fluidhead can help this problem as well.

check out the wrap around mount from Campbells, it's what I use and its does the trick!
