Anyone else catch it? What an amazing story about an amazing athlete. Good to see a positive spin on archery in the national media as well.
Yeah, I saw it. I had forgotten just how amazing of an athlete Bo was during his prime. The 30 for 30 series is by far the best thing ESPN has done in recent years. Most of them are fantastic.
Caught the tail end of it with audio, the other night, but had to watch most of it in a bar. Looked great, and I was really caught off guard at the end with the archery segment. Really amazing athlete. Really glad he wasn't shooting a Mathews:D
I also picked up how it showed his archery addiction as a good thing. Very cool story and I love the series.
I agree, 30 for 30 is an amazing series. Haven't seen a bad one yet, even when the story line is something I am not remotely interested in...I still find myself watching for 1.5 hours and enjoying it. You have to think Bo was and still is the greatest natural athlete ever born. What a stud. The story of the Alabama and Auburn recruitment cracked me up as well.
Amen, they can't do enough of these....love them. I was pumped all day Saturday for this and it was well worth it!
I missed most of it, just caught the last bit. I really want to see that one. Being a Royals fan, I can only imagine what Bo would have done if he hadn't been hurt. Damn those Raiders, another reason to hate them.
I caught it. A great piece of work I think. I've always been a Bo fan even before he changed his name to please the alumni of Auburn Universtiy. His real name was hard for them to remember and pronounce. They ask him to change it so it would be easier on all of them and in print. Wierd deal really.
LOL, not sure if you are being sarcastic but he went by Bo long before his years at Auburn. I do love a good dig at the Barners though, so I'll let the accuracy slide. haha
I'm not being sarcastic... he did change his name so that the Auburn grads could remember it and pronounce it. HIs real name was hard for them to remember or pronounce. True story.... trust me.
Ummm, no. It's a funny story, and may play into the myth of a man as ESPN eluded to...but he went by Bo in high school.
I read Bo's book in high school. I still remember a part where one of Bo's highschool coaches kept alluding to the fact that he was stupid. I believe Bo was a sophomore and was as big and fast as a college junior. He pretty much kept listening to this coach berate his intelligence until he stepped up to him one day chest to chest and politely told him to never do it again....the coach listened! hahaha
That's what you say... I know what his real name was. Even the president of the University ask him to change it to make it easier to remember.
Come on, I'm all about making fun of Alabama, but let's not pretend that "Vincent" is that hard for them to spell or say.
His name was not Vincent. You know how the black families like to come up with a unique name. Bo's family did too and he had to change it.
His bio has him listed as 6'1" and 230. I always thought he was bigger than that? Dude looked like a giant in the KC Royals uniform.
