Going on a hog hunt soon and want some heavier arrows. 13 dollars for these sounds a lot better then some new arrows. Any one have any experience?

Guys use heavy gauge weed eater cord and do the same thing... Cut it all the same length, weight each to make sure they are close.

Then fold a U into the end and push the cord into the shaft with a thin rod. Works fine for them.

Of corse if your shooting Gold Tips you can just add a fact weight behind the insert.

For example on my velocity pro's I have 60 grains added behind the insert ....if I wanted to remove them I just use the fact wrench and in screw em...

How much weight does the weed eater cord add?

Depends how long you make it and the gauge you use.

You have to be careful just adding weight tubes because it will decrease your FOC. If you're low to begin with, you might enter into a lower than adequate area and lose any advantage you might have gained with the extra weight.

I would advise just getting heavier broadheads. Provided you're not borderline with spine.

Look into heads like helix single bevel. 150 gr single bevel will do more than any weight tube ever could from a penetration stand point.

I'm throwing speed out the window and just want weight. Going with heavier broadheads as well as arrows.

Imo, front end weight is the way to go. Forget the tubes. Add brass inserts and or heavy heads.

I concur if your adding weight to arrow the front end is the place to put it.

One of the reasons I love GT fact system .....

For example the rig I am using to day I am shooting 100 grain Solids on velocity pro 's....except I have 60 grains screwed into the insert... It lets me change my FOC and total arrow weight without changing my broadhead.
