I spent $3 on a wooden plaque at Hobby Lobby, and used what I had on hand in the garage to make this rack mounting display. I made a wood block to attach to the bottom of skull plate. I used jig saw to cut the block to match the skull plate. I connected them together with 2 screws that I counter sunk in the wood block. I then attached the antlers and wood block to the plaque with 2 screws. I used 2 small screws and wire for hanging bracket. Sealed the wood natural. This is how it turned out.
that's cool! The arrow-head shaped base was already cut in that shape and routed? I am working on something kind of similar right now except it's for a euro, so I bought some knock-off skull hooker things and used a natural bark edged base plaque from Menard's that I got for like $8. Just waiting for the clear coat to dry tonight to do the final mount tomorrow, will post pics after it's done. For skull plates, I like what you did. I probably have 2-3 in the basket that I think are worth doing that way. Esp if the base is already cut and routed...For $3!
Yep. That's the one. I sorted through them till I found one that had character. I liked the pine knot in the one I picked out.
