Also have to remember that hoyt uses ATA speeds and most others use IBO. ATA/IBO velocity: ATA speeds are 70 lbs, 30 in. draw at 5 grains per lb. IBO standards allow for speeds to be tested at poundages as high as 82 lbs as long as the arrow is at 5 grains per lb. By going with ATA spec, we eliminate any question as to how we test our speed. But again, not that it really matters. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
Im shooting my 2013 spyder 30, 29" draw, 66#, shooting 29.5" Easton FMJs at 10.2 gpi. Im going to switch to Easton Hexx's at 7.2 gpi just for more speed and flatter trajectory for 3d this winter and spring. It'll save me roughly 90 grains and I figure I'll pick up around 30 fps. Yeah I got some new ones, still trying to sell my old arrows. I have everything sitting here waiting to go on the new bow. Its sucks having the stuff and not using it lol Thats a pretty big change, are you going back to the heavier arrow for hunting then or will you stick with the hexx?
Had shoulder problems a few years ago so they aren't what they use to be and I can shoot 60# comfortably all day and it helps when its cold out.
Shoulder problems are no fun. I hope you like the new bow! From the accessories in your thread I see your putting on it looks sweet!
I think I'll shoot the Hexx for indoor and outdoor 3D this spring, as well as for turkey this spring. But I think once we finish all the 3D shoots that we want to do, I'll switch back over to my FMJs.
I'd say between 30-35. It was all unknown yardages. We will be shooting 40+ at some point. He even mentioned at some point shutting all the lights off and shooting with spotlights and black lights.
That sounds like fun. I just need to get my bow and get it sighted in. I will have 20,30, and 40 until I can get out and shoot at 60.
