Little more than an 1 hour ago, one of my neighbors asked me to come to her house and remove 3 fairly large snakes. Which I found odd since her Son in Law is a rather muscular guy. Once I got there I found he's deathly afraid of snakes. So after gathering the 3 large snakes up from their mating dance and one from a drain pipe.

My neighbor was so over joyed that she gave me a hug and a check for a $1000 dollars. Naturally I can't accept the cash for something I would do for any decent neighbor for free.

Had it been Mr. Wimpy Husband wife I'd kept every penny. Happy to say all 3 snakes were saved and released in an heavily wooded area. Still joined in their mating ball. Except the unlucky one it took off as soon as it hit the grass.

Black snake, name for several snakes, not all closely related, that are black in color. In the United States the name is applied chiefly to the black racer and to the black rat snake (Elaphe obsoleta), both partly arboreal in their habits. The black rat snake, also called pilot black snake and mountain black snake, is found in the NE United States.

Like other rat snakes (Elaphe species), it is a constrictor and a valuable destroyer of rats and mice. It has shiny, slightly keeled scales and reaches a length of 8 ft (2.4 m). The poisonous Australian black snake belongs to the cobra family and has a hood. The North American black snakes are classified in the phylum Chordata, subphylum Vertebrata, class Reptilia, order Squamata, family Colubridae

PS I've already destroyed the check in my paper shredder.

Good work. Snakes don't bother me much at all... unless they are venomous. My son just rolls his eyes at me when we are fishing and a snake swims by the boat and I reach down and grab it, then throw it at his feet. He just calmly kicks them overboard. He's not much fun anymore... I need to start taking his friends fishing instead I guess.:tu:
