If your asking if its legal for the contest, yes. As far as Ill. I believe it was posted on the site that as long as you're on private land it's legal to harvest game with a bow using your shotgun tags, during shotgun season.
I never understood separating it anyway. Whats wrong with taking an animal with a more primitive weapon, it's giving the game more of an advantage.

I don't get this at all....It's firearm season here but you can use your bow or any weapon to harvest a deer. Actually it's buck only with a gun but you can still kill one with a bow....just makes me scratch my head....

Well if I can't find my tags or figure out a way to get quick replacements I may be out of luck. They seem to have vanished

Dude one year I literally submitted pictures of me, my bow and the head of a deer I recovered 3 days later. We got the points.

Hey guys hope everyone's getting psyched about the cold front. Thanksgiving am should be a good morning! Anyways temps are dropping here tonight into the low 30s FINALLY! I'll be out all day tomorrow. Not to confident in my stands. Haven't seen much in the last 4 weeks. After I took my second doe it's been tough. I think they're feeding patterns changed and I got lazy. I should have kept my cameras up and scouted a little more. Today I moved 3 cameras and did some mock scrapes. Fresh sign all over the place. I'll check the wind forecast tonight and try and choose a good spot on the fly tomorrow with my climber. Maybe I'll play it safe and go back to my early season spot were I already took 2. I don't know. I'm really regretting not staying on top of know and monitoring my cameras. Hopefully I'll have it figured out for December.

BBD Thursday evening! Haven't had data signal on the public land campground since. Out guiding my Dad right now. This area has minimal signal. Have seen 4 does sobfar today after seeing 13 deer yesterday. Once we get home I'll get some pics uploaded! Guessing 130's...maybe 140. Still stoked 1.5 days later boys!

Morning sit ruined by a poacher. Evening sit back in Massachusetts in a honey hole! Several miles into woods but this is where the monsters are.

Shot him Thursday evening, recovered next morning cause I wasn't confident with the shot and didn't see much blood that evening. Came in the next morning and he only went 60-70 yards and died at the edge of the field. Never expected to see a buck of that caliber hit a field edge at 4:15 when it was really warm (80+ degrees) on public land. My 73 year old Dad got a big doe around 8:15 this morning with his (actually mine) 20 gauge. He wanted to hold out for a decent buck, but the wind was kicking our @$$es and he was tired. I wasn't even going to hunt Thursday as it was too hot and we'd been scouting all day in the heat putting up blinds. On public land it is nice to have as many options as possible for gun season. My ol man wouldn't leave the parking lot at the last place we put up a blind. He wanted me to go out for a few hours cause I was sacrificing my early gun season to kind of guide him on a piece of public land that he drew a tag. Grabbed my climber and walked out and hunted the evening in a t-shirt not expecting to see a dang thing! I think he just wanted to take a nap cause I wore him out. 143 1/8
