Well, I saw 9 turkeys and that has never happened here. I pulled the card on the way out and I have a new 8, and a new 6, a hot doe and pics of my 10 and the new 8 fighting at 9 o clock just below my stand yesterday morning. One of these days the stars and planets will align and he will step out there. One of these days.

I'm gonna try for tomorrow. The wind is gonna be border line first thing, but I'm at least 35' above and 30 Yds away from the main trail. Which is right next to a steep drop off. So all of my scent should go over the top of any deer. It's slowly gonna transition to a preferred wind.
What do y'all think? Should I?

AM there are falling thermals until sun begins to warm up the valley bottom. Reverse for PM hunt. 35' above you should be fine, but still check your wind from stand. I use dried milkweed seeds. Floats with wind and thermals to determine where your scent is going.

I've been using the cattails off the pond, they work pretty awesome also but the milkweed is a good idea also.

And...I've got a problem now, this new 8 that showed up is bigger than the other 8 or 10 point I've been chasing, but I know he's only 2.5 if even that He's a young deer. We are trying to let the young ones grow but the neighbor will shoot him no matter what age he is, so I don't know what to do? What do you guys think?

It can be frustrating passing bucks just to have the neighbor blast it! I'd you are trying to increase the age structure of your deer herd, pass it. If YOU want to kill him if you get the opportunity, you will have to make that decision. Any deer killed with archery equipment is a trophy to me so I don't judge anyone.

I wanted to you go this morning but wasn't able to sneak away so I'm going to change things up and do an afternoon sit. Maybe I can catch him slipping just a few minutes before dark on the trail at the top that leads to some really, really thick stuff where he beds at. I know I have a hot doe in there so maybe he will try following her around.

Well , craziness abounds here in NW GA , had someone kill a bear ( the one we have had on camera) which is unheard of here. Like not even possible, but 2 properties away. Someone killed a 180 class deer on the other side of our property( that also doesn't happen here) And I'm pretty sure I saw a 165-170 class buck chasing a doe about 1/2 a mile from this same property. Maybe something good will come out of it for us....But this is a crazy hunting year my friends....just plain whacky!!! All of this went on this afternoon, I think I'm delirious and would know better if my dad, my brother and my hunting buddy hadn't called to tell me about it......whew I'm going to bed.

Great buck. You never know what will happen during the rut. Nice to see him in the daylight though.
