I'm up and getting ready to head out. Showers this morning around 9ish. I'll swap stands around noon because of the wind change. Then more rain in the pm. We'll see what happens. These 2 stands are set back a little. More of observation stands, but one is near a funnel and the other an oak flat. Looking forward to watching the woods come alive.

No good this morning. Been a light drizzle. Supposed to stop for a few hours then start up again. Moving to a different stand now. Wish I knew where they were scraping at. Be a good day to sit a scrape line.

Well, tomorrow will be the last day of bow season before all the guns start going off Saturday here for me in GA. It is supposed to be 43 degrees in the morning so that should get them moving. I mean, I can still hunt with a bow its just that deer will be a lot more jumpy and it will be a few weeks before I can get up to TN to hunt. Damn, that went by fast.....

Tomorrow afternoon is my first sit on my private land. Will most likely be buck only for now. Hoping to kill the doe on public land still as our doe numbers are not what we would like. I'll kill one there eventually if necessary though.

Storms blew in around 5. I got down to wait it out in the truck. Winds were up, but not terrible, it was lightning though. Got a message that a good friend and father of good friends, who has been sick for awhile, is on his last leg. Dr. said he only has hours left. So I went and picked up my wife and headed to Louisville about 2 hrs away. Deer were everywhere on the drive up after the initial squall.
Sad to see him in such a state, he excepted me into his family when I first moved here 7 years ago and did the same for my wife when she moved here back in the 90's. Satan has done a terrible to this world. Makes me happy though that his family, and mine, have hope through our faith. Without it I don't know how people cope.

Good luck to all tomorrow, weathers getting good. Won't be long till bone hits the ground.

Getting done early with work today. High temp is low-mid 50s so going to do what I said I wasn't...I'm going hunting! Going to hunt the same piece of property I killed the doe last Sat. Will be my 2nd sit ever on this property so praying that I can go 2 for 2! This time, main focus will be a buck unless the doe population looks high (if I see anything!). Also going to hang a camera or two to see what we have running this small property.

Jeep, you're a good man for giving up a prime hunting scenario to spend time with a dying friend. Prayers to your friend and you buddy!

Well, there goes the GA bow season in the books for me. Nothing moving this morning with the wind whipping around at 20+ miles per hour. I'm still going to take my now I will just have towear orange now and I still have yet to make it up to our new spot in TN for some tree time with a bow. Next will be trying to get my boy his first deer and waiting on the rut to start here. Good luck Rizzo.

Two awesome hunts yesterday in wisconsin. Saw 6 different bucks including 2 "Neal Shooters" ... passed a small 2 year old 8 pointer on film at 12 yards.

Bucks chasing does in WI --- i'm sure it was cold front related but it's feeling like the rut!

Neighbors just started shooting what sounds like a hand gun. 6 sets of 8 shoots so far. 55 min of legal hunting time remaining.
