Thats tough. Had a similar experience a few years back, but it involved an injured wife requiring me to run kiddos around. Since having kids my hunting time has decreased, but success has been just as good. Hunting smarter I guess as I get older....or just luckier.

Shot some BH's from my late season stand. Hitting dead on. I spread those arrows out to protect my arrows. Opening day here forecast is 40/72. Not bad considering how hot this weeks been. I have a few nice does and smaller bucks that visit my stand just about every day around 7-9am. So ready for Thursday.

Layeth the Smacketh down my friend. It's supposed to be 58 here in the morning, 48 Monday and 45 Tuesday. I will be on stand all days barring all major difficulties .

Sir , I am totally ready, it just started to rain here and that makes me happy, less smell, less noise and more movement from my experience.

 

Sorry to keep filling our posts up, but I am packing, repacking , checking, double checking and trying to make sure the stand I pick is the best for the wind and the rain the good Lord just sent us that I know we need. I am so freaking pumped for my church service in the tree in the morning , even if I see nothing. I love my tree therapy time. And all God's children say it?

Checked a cam yesterday and had some decent night cruisers.

 

Well today has been a bust, and hot and I need to bring the air rifle for the tree rats. It was good to be in a tree though.

 

I'm gone for 2 days and I missed the full play by play of the first hunt of our teams season! Awesome. Glad to hear you had a safe hunt.

Going again in the morning with my little brother. This will be his first hunt since he has been through the cancer bs, so it will be special, even if we just get some tree time. I'm putting him in the prime spot on the back of property beside the creek where Mr. Hateful Eight likes to hang out so maybe he can mash him with his Mathews in the morning, and if not, it beats being at work. lol
