Had a great hunt this morning, shot my 2nd archery doe of the year. Got into the stand early without spooking anything. It rained until about 7:30. When it stopped i did a mild rattling sequence and leaned back against the tree. About 15 minutes later, i glance to my right and there they were. Two does 7 yards from my tree. They came in so SILENTLY that i had no idea they were there. I slowly stood up and grabbed my bow. They were both walking quartering away from me, and the biggest one stepped in front of a tree that i ranged at 19 yards (thanks Jay ), i mouth grunted (first time ive ever done that) and she stopped. Release....thump, smack! My favorite sound in the world, the bow going off and the rage hitting the deer. She jumped and did a kick and ran off about 45 yards. I got a pass-through again and went through 1 lung. The shot angle cause me to hit alot of guts though and the field dressing job was rather gnarly. Enjoy the pics :D
Congrats on the doe man. Last week I hunted just following a rain and the same thing happened. I just happen to look to my left and theres a doe 12 yards from the tree. Sneaky little boogers sometimes
