i guess i am the only idiot that doesnt know how to close/latch up a camera

after changen sd cards, was checkn cards from over the weekend today, to figure out where

to hunt this week and noticed that the bottom latch of a 2nd covert red40 is crackd and

barely hanging together ?? out of 4 covert red40 cameras that i bought only maybe 6mths apart

that is 2 now with broken bottom latches, just got back a replacement for the first and feel like a total

idiot to send in another for the same thing two weeks apart, both these cameras where bought in april

of 2013. was there a bad batch of bottom latches or am i the only idiot with this issue? i dont want to take

it down now that things are getn good where i am at in ohio, so i guess that i am going to try and make it

thru the season and send it back end of january ? just wondern if any of you have the same issue ? russ

I know my 2012 black60 latches way harder then my 2013.

not saying you did this as I think it could be a bad case molding run, but just throwing this thought out there.

Any chance before you latched the camera, the little latch thing swung into the case and you latched it?

Or that little round peg gets in the way.

There were a batch with latch issues.

You shouldn't have any issue with 1 latch until the end of season or get a hold of me next week when I am back in the office and I will get a replacement sent out for you to swap.

thanks pat for the info.. i just feel bad that two cameras within 2 wks both have broken bottom latches...

and yes jake both these new cameras do seem harder to latch close and as i am sure we all do, i try to make sure

that metal piece is out of the way before tryn to latch close... my two oldest (only about 6mths apart purchase) red40 are alot

easier to close/latch... thanks again pat for your help and directions, will get in touch with you after season, here in ohio....russ

Pat's offer seems like he would send you a replacement camera next week, you swap it out and send the broken latch one back. No need to wait till after season. Up to you obviously, but that is unheard of service in the trail cam market.

    Keep us updated.

i know jake... that pat and covert have taken care of me and all of us with issues with our cameras, whether its under warrenty

or not....that goes along way to say what AWESOME company COVERT is and always will be, going UP and BEYOND to help out

us fellow hunters and friends....wont be able to get back to my spot to hunt til the wkend, (tryn to play the wind directiion game)

will take it down after the hunt and make arrangements to get an RA# and send it back....BY THE WAY BOTH CAMERAS ARE

STILL WORKN FLAWLESSLY, THATS WHAT SUCKS ON MY END....CAMERAS ARE WORKN GREAT,i guess its just a cosmetic defect

and i dont want the elements to get in and ruin the camera, then it would be double kick in the nuts.... THANKS AGAIN TO PAT

AND COVERT CAMERAS, THEY ARE the BEST....HANDS DOWN.....RUSS

Pat is the bad batch just pertaining to the Red 40 or have other models had the same? I'm assuming the Red 40 and Black 60 share the same case???
