Here's the first photo of the giant Illinois buck that Todd Graf has been chasing the past three seasons. It was shot on Saturday afternoon by Todd's friend and hunting partner Mike. Todd and Mike were hunting about 100 yards from each other when the giant stepped out and gave Mike a 25 yard shot. He put a perfect hit on him and the buck only ran about 15 yards before piling up. Mike and several others have been chasing this deer for quite awhile and they have dozens of trail camera photos of him, and some great video from late season last year when Todd had him at 80 yards in a food plot. I'll be working on putting together a full write-up on the story of this deer with trail cam pictures, shed photos and Todd's footage from last fall. But for now - I give you "Sweetness". 19 scorable points, rough scored at 222" and change, and they figure he was 8 1/2.
Congrats! That thang is HUGE! The rack is amazing and the size of the head, it looks as big as your chest!
The most insane thing to me is at 8.5 years old this probably wasn't his biggest rack. That thing is just ridiculous.
