I went to college near Milwaukee and heard the team "bubbler" within my first few hours of moving into my dorm. I was dumbfounded.

I've never understood the bubbler thing either but it is alive and well. Been calling it that my whole life. And yes, if you call it a drinking fountain you get a slightly strange look like you are not from around here. LOL

    Oh and 2 things:

    1) It's a damn crawfish.
    2) I have used the term "the devil is beating his wife" my entire life, which is infinitely cooler than calling something a "sunshower"

I have trouble taking someone serious that says y'all.

My mind instanly thinks I'm speaking with

I'm getting better but still have a long ways to go. Considering I speak with many people from the south at work I need to get over this.

You call a water fountain, a "bubbler", you have no room to judge anyone.

Wow, bubbler means something entirely different here. It's not a water fountain that's for sure but did get a lot of use at college.

Never heard anyone refer to a water fountain as a bubbler, ever. But when I hear someone call a crayon a "crown", I want to slap a baby. It's really annoying.

No idea where it came from, but I've heard it my entire life. Never heard it anywhere else except rural, deep south areas.

I've never heard of this one either. For that matter, I've never heard someone use the term "sunshower" either.

Y'all is used as a friendly gesture in many areas, not just as a redneck term.

Never heard bubbler. Or sunshower. Or the devil is beating his wife.

When my buddy moved down to Bama from North Dakota and said Uffda, I thought he was bat **** crazy lol.

I've heard of the sunshower before but the devil thing is a long term for rain.

I am definitely not going to defend the term bubbler.
