Hey guys, I don't post an awful lot but I am following along. I am heading to the west side of South Dakota to chase antelope next week. Hopefully the rut is cranking and my brother and I have some fun encounters with the decoy. We were nearly run over last year and we were both hooked. Our archery deer season starts Sept 24th. The property we hunting has 3 miles of creek bottom so I will be doing some scouting and maybe hanging a stand or 2 also. In the past years I've gotten all fired up in September and started hunting every chance I got and by November I'm a little burnt out, spent out and out of vacation. In addition to the hunt next week I'm planning a trip for rifle antelope which over laps archery deer so it will be a dual purpose trip. I'll hunt the east side of the state in November. I hunt public ground but I have found some deep areas that don't get a lot of traffic that may or may not require a canoe. A family member has a late season elk tag in December that I'll help out with so there may be some opportunities then also. I know I don't have food plots and cameras everywhere like the rest of the team but I will spend a lot of time in the field and should have a lot of opportunities, if I can do my part. I shoot a lot of 3D the rest of the year but I have struggled with "the moment of truth". Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk

well boys real bad news. first off my bow broke last week while at my proshop. the loop on the cam broke while I was about 1/2 way into the draw. Ripped out the mods, damaged a limb, and the string is obviously wasted. the worst of the news is that I have a torn minicus in my left knee. I'm having surgery some time this week. So I'll be out for 6-8 weeks. My bowhunting will be out till maybe late season if that. Damn, second year in a row that something has happened to me to take me out for the season. I'll keep you guys posted. Good luck to anyone hunting soon.

Guys I will be checking cams in the morning and then one more time before season starts I try to stay out as much as possible the closer we get to the Opener I expect to still have doe coming in but who knows one of the bucks may have showed up we shall see. Hey guys, sorry for being virtually abesnt but I am packing for an elk hunt! We are shipping out thursday morning and will be gone until the 25th! I will miss opener here in MN but will hit the ground running when I get back!
Had my opportunity had numerous does so far being as my season has already started...great time in the new lonewolf climber just not looking to shoot a doe just yet. Need them points lol
