Hey all! IN DA WOODS checking in. basic bio: located in SE WI, have 2 pieces of private land that I hunt. One is 110 acres- 20 wooded, rest farm land; the second is 400 acres, roughly 75-100 woodes, broken up into 2 pieces. Haven't been out on the property yet. I was supposed to go out this Fri to cut trails etc, but my leg started giving me issues on Tues, so I'll have to wait a week.

my season starts Sept 17th. I think I better get out and do some shooting with my new bow, Matthews No-Cam, and get some arrows ordered up and get paper tuned.
I had a big 10 pointer I spotted last year bow hunting. He left a real good trail of rubs on the property. I think he made it through our gun season. I'm going to try to hit the early season this year. Maybe I'll get lucky and catch him off guard. I do have to move a stand on one piece of property and put up another on my other one.
I didn't get a chance to put up camera yet, but will this week.

Forgot to mention my name. Hank. I responded to Kyle's private post about checking in. Spread the word to him if you talk to him.
Hard to get into the season with it being so hot here. Truthfully I don't want give up the summer. Like cruising in my gto too much.

Hey Hank, what's going on? I think this is our third year in a row together. Sooner or later we gotta win something. Third times a charm right?

What tree stand setups are you guys working with this year? I've always been a lock-on or ladder guy hanging around 10-12 stands every year. Thinking about keeping a couple of my honey hole stands up but going mobile a littler more this year. I have a summit viper climber that I really like and also picked up a used Lone Wolf hand climber at a yard sale this past spring for $75 , but was also thinking about picking up a LW Alpha lock on and sticks. Thoughts?

I'm a Muddy guy myself, or I should say used to be. Since the company was sold a few years ago they have gone down hill in my opinion. I still have a crap load of them so I should be good for a while.

Yep I have two of the Hunter hangons that are 4-5 yrs old. Use those as permanent stands for the year. Nice, but never tried them as a mobile setup.

I'm a HAWK guy. I got a handful of the HAWK Destinations this year....it's the 21' ladder stand. I use their Combat and Kickback lock-ons as well. For my mobile set, I use the Helium lock-on and sticks. They all have their purpose but I'm really liking the Destinations.

I have several cheap ladder stands set up for my wife. She prefers these, but I like to hunt from my lone wolf and sticks most of the time. I can set it up really quickly in almost any tree. Its really opened up a lot of options for me since I got it.

21 days until I'm spotting and stalking muleys in Colorado. I just hope this guy is still around.
