Season already started for me on the 15th! I've been in the stand 4 times already, however early season trying to work out the kinks and being very selective. Hope yall are getting great pictures and preparing for your season. If I don't die to the heat first ill be posting soon (HOPEFULLY with a nice buck)
Dang the temperature over there in Iowa looks nice! Im still working with 80+ degrees at 7 AM!! Damn I hate the south!
Good luck! I leave in 22 days!!!! Hopefully I can start my season off right with a big bull elk! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm way behind this year. Just got cameras out on Tuesday of last week in Illinois. We hung a couple sets this weekend and checked one camera. Got a buck we call Muley...an old buck with no brow tines and he forks off, and another decent buck behind him....we're trying to figure out who he is and if we have a picture of him from last year. Neither one will score the best, but I hope to get my entry in September with a real muley!
My 6yr old is getting pretty excited for season to start. He loves tagging along with me on hunts and recoveries. Can't wait until he's old enough to take his first deer. buckeyehntr5 - Bowhunting.com Forums(13295080) on Vimeo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey Derek, my filming partner said he saw you on The Sportsman Channel the other night. I think it was Destination Whitetails? He said it was a pretty good segment.
Sorry guys been gone on vacation with no internet. Back in town now, getting caught up on every thing. I can work on a logo this week. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
Yep. They did an episode on me about how I got started in the hunting TV industry. They may do another episode later this winter...sort of a next step episode and how I've grown over the last 3 years. It was good publicity.
Hey team!!! Been kinda laying low too but it want last been busy with school tryna finish up my associate but the day is etching closer and closer to Oct 1st that is. I've pretty much got all my stands hung where I hunt and most recently hung somewhat of a double setup just need to put lifelines on it now because my boy and my nephew will get to join me in that tree this year for sure. It's over looking a 4 acre food plot with a variety of different things from beans to turnips even a watermelon or cantaloupe here and there. It is mostly a doe only spot. I haven't seen a real mature buck on it in a while but doesn't mean it can't happen so I'm just gonna pull some doe off of it this year the owner let's me hunt it just to keep the numbers down so he's happy I'm happy I also have a camera running there so I'll be checking that in a week or two. I did see a velvet buck there a week ago during daylight hrs but he is a young buck probably no more than 1 1/2 2 at the most bit I'll be keeping an i on him from now on. hopefully we will see what he looks like soon up close. Other than that I went out to the white oak Ridge started an early scrape and checked my treestand there to make sure it was good and safe seems just fine. This will be my go to stand for my hitlister the big 8 if he comes back around there are plenty doe there that I know will be hot come the Rut so it's definitely a hot spot. My last but not least is the New spot which also seems very promising I was gonna do a fall food plot there but I just opted to run a feeder and see what happens and I already have some regulars showing up no bucks yet but I've got a good feeling it's 40 acres so it's bound to hold something but pretty under developed at this point minus the fruit trees. I'm just ready to get it on over been shooting my bow all summer both bows I couldn't be more pleased with how my assasin performs and its plenty fast at 60# so no complaints. Hope you guys are doing well it's been in the mid 80s here the last week or so and im enjoying the cool night air and can't wait for a real cold snap to kick things off.
