Couldn't agree more. I've tried a few different sights and the my 3 pin Ascent is by far the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Man! I check my camera hoping for some of the same bucks as last week, and a big 0! But I did get a new doe move into the area. I have a old doe here with twins and I think she pushes all the deer out of the area, and now she has become a little relaxed. Got some pics with her a few other does eating together. The does and this young fawn have been hitting my backyard feeder pretty regularly, but 30 minutes after they left I had a new doe show at the feeder who looked like had an autumn coat already.
Hey I got the same kind of gravity feeder! Made a bunch of em! I got a gang of does, I mean, a metric crap ton of does on this trail cam. The property owner was kind enough to go grab the SD card for me and upload them to my google drive! Check this out
A straight piece of PVC, a clean out Y, a drain for the bottom and a cap/cover, some glue (except to the cap and drain) and a strap/tiedown. Definitely NOT cow proof. I set mine about a foot and a half off the ground-seems to me to be less squirrel/coon/possum problems.
Seems like a cool idea that is also cheap! Couple questions...what is the clean out Y, and does it work like a dog feeder where it fills it as the bucket empties? I assume you're using straight corn Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Corn or anything that would fit/feed properly. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...Gpq-gN&usg=AFQjCNHYucy-5sw4J3eNXtLFiQw6y-B12A
Definitely going to be making a few of those next year. Thanks for sharing that Bill! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nah, I use protein pellets. I have a drain on the bottom part, I just have a cap over the bottom with holes drilled in it to drain properly, otherwise it gets pretty nasty.
So I've been waiting for my food plot to produce something now for over 3 weeks; planted it July 29th. We got .30" the night I planted it and I thought for sure that would get things sprouted. Nothing. Well we finally got a 2" rain last week so I went out today to check it and there are is stuff sprouting up everywhere! Planted clover, brassicas species, and sugar beets on half an acre. #Pumped
SD's season opens when? Also since you planned both clover and root veg, is thinking they will start hitting the field (clover) thru late season (beets & brassica)? By comparison, I'll need to get my small plot in probably the next couple weeks...
Yup, the idea was to provide good early cover and food with clover and still have brassicas and beets around for late season food source. I am thinking about broadcasting some winter wheat seed as well just for extra forage. Season starts Sept. 26th Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I almost forgot. I got some new strings from Bow String Depot, and dang it if they didn't ruin my arrows. (First time I've ever done this. 30 yards)
That's some fine shooting... ...and mixed emotions. Woo hoo! Damn, there goes $25. I headed out to practice and had to run off these meddling kids.
A couple years ago I had something like that happen. I set up 3 deer targets in the woods and while I was shooting, two fawns come running in. They stopped right in the middle of all 3 targets and just stand there. They must have thought it was there herd, it was a cool experience. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
