Well, I saw deer roday and didn't see other hunters. If the wind didn't make a little shift, I'm pretty sure I would've had a shot at a booner doe.

Well guys, I'm back from my unsuccessful bear hunt, it was fun though! North GA mountains are beautiful this time of the year. Hopefully I'll be in the stand next Friday!

Came pretty close to getting a shot at a shooter. Came through too fast and could get him stopped. Quite a bit of activity this afternoon even though it was in the mid 60s.

Thats rough, but there is still a lot of rut left. I've actually had to yell at bucks before just to get them to stop, they do get a one track mind.

I sat all day today and didn't see a deer till 4 this afternoon, just a small doe. Very slow day and didn't find much rutting sign yet, but nice being out there!

Good to hear some of us will be getting more time in the stand this week. I'm taking Wed-Saturday so hopefully business will pick up. Good luck fellas and shoot straight this week. I feel good things showing up on our score card. :D

Enjoyed seeing my daughter-in-law get her first big game animal on Bowhunt or Die. Pretty cool.

And good luck too you also and keep at it. It will happen fast! I'm hoping to get a couple sits on this week then off all next week. I think I am going to time the rut pretty good this year.

Jerry are you hunting TX and OK?

I thought the barb at Dustin on the yardage was a hoot. I was a doubley nice break on the show, her making that shot and a mid-season bit of variety when most are laser focused on deer.

Slow weekend here.... didn't get to hunt the good weather earlier in the weekend but hunted all day yesterday. Very slow, of course soon as I climbed out of the blind last night I was in a stare down with the buck I was there to kill..... SOB!!! Getting closer

Bill, I am hunting public land in OK and will get a couple doe tags in Wyoming at Thanksgiving. I got a kick out of that jab at Dustin too. :D I'm leaving tomorrow night so I don't have to get up at 2 am and drive the 110 miles on Wed morning. Will be hunting Wed-Fri and maybe Saturday.

Dang it man! Bucks got us figured out so far. Redemption this weekend. :D

I start my week of vacation tomorrow, and of course it'll be raining for the first half of the day. Don't care. I'll have a perfect NW wind all day so I'll be out. Picture numbers have really declined over the last week which is discouraging, but with a healthy doe population I'm optimistic that the bucks will be cruising through. Just need to put some time in.

When I get a wrong wind throughout the week I'll be spot n stalking on some vast public land. Pumped for this week!!

Good luck out there guys and be safe.

It's been raining here just about all week. I topped off the feeder, took a few practice shots and noticed I've had visitors other than just the does... uploadfromtaptalk1446669300025.jpg

Did you run a camera? I put one out at my new house and the buck activity is definitely ramping up. This past month I've got over 12 different bucks showing up. Got a nice 8 pt 2 nights ago. It's crazy what's running right beside the house!

Well... gonna hit it hard next three days. Got a call from my neighbor last night wondering why I hadn't been over to hunt. He has a nice piece of woods down the creek from my house and said he has been seeing a couple dandies the last few days. I was considering not even hunting it this year due to the D bag that moved in on the property line last year. Deer movement just wasn't the same last year. But..... I killed my booner there a couple years ago so I guess after my morning hunt tomorrow I will load up the boat, a stand, and a cam or two and throw up a set after all. Hopefully the cooler weather the next few days will get them on their feet a bit more during shooting hours.

Good luck Holt. I haven't noticed very hard rut activity this past weekend so this week should be hot. A lot of small bucks shadowing does and night pictures of mature bucks this past week.

Its getting hot here.... had a lot of action the last couple mornings. Damn near punched my tag Sat AM. I watched my number two buck chase a doe across the milo field, work a scrape, then make his way down to draw to me. I was able to grunt him over to 3o yds but he hung up over my left shoulder. I had one twenty yd window to shoot him in which he stopped in and posed beautifully broadside in, I was struggling to get my camera swung around to the backside of the tree though. By the time I got him in frame, he had taken a couple steps and I no longer had a clear shot.... Had to watch him walk away......
