I am jealous of you guys in the field, although not to much as it is 90 today. We open Saturday, I have been really good not getting to excited but I can not contain it anymore. Weather says high of 74, partly cloudy, 50% chance of rain till 0300, but looks like it will be spotty rain showers. At 0600 it is 0% still cloudy. I think it will be a good day. An old Army friend is in town so I can't sit all day like I wanted to. Oh well there is always Sunday. I'm going to pass the doe hoping the big fella comes in first.
Good luck boys. I'm hoping to get out Sat. I'll drink this in your honor (and maybe a second if you down one before my flight leaves NY). Cheers! (Bear Republic Racer 5)
Well, I had 2 does come in, they were about 60 yards, when a stinking yearling comes right up to my blind and freaks out, scaring away the 2 does, 2 bucks that were hiding in the brush, and another 3 does that followed in behind this yearling. I also got a doe all pissed off over by one of my trail cams, she was snorting at me and stomping her foot. She was pissed! Unfortunately I had my bow on the ground, as I was replacing the SD card in the cam, and had to put my bow down.
Heading out tomorrow to hang a stand where I'll be hunting in Oklahoma. Got good news that the buddy I was hunting elk with in Wyoming was able to get back out with my son this morning. He killed a 6x6 bull that my son called in to 15 yards. Two happy guys right there.
Well tomorrow may be interesting...cloudy with off and on showers but a high in the 60s and a good wind... I hope the deer read the script.
Way to go Mista!! Blackjack on the board! Season opens tomorrow here so I'll be in the stand for a few hours, or at least until it gets too warm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here ya go boys! She was perfectly broadside @ 40 yards! Used my HHA and got a great shot! She ran about 30 yards and expired in the thickest brush I've ever seen.
That's awesome Mista! Looks like a great shot! Congratulations man Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks man! There were 8 does to choose from and I just picked the one closest! There was a much larger one about 10 yards further, but I didn't want to run the risk of a shot that long!
I just took a shot at a doe at 35 yards! But the bad news is I miss judged the yardage by 5 yards and she jumped my string and ducked. Clean miss, no blood. There will be more
That's a crappy feeling, but at least it's a clean miss, not to mention you had a chance at one. Nothing moving around my stand yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
