Practice & wash gear (next weekend will be permethrin application and gear organization). I'm sure I have some "honey do" items too.

What are you using for your gear wash? I've been using Dead Down Wind detergent and washing by hand outdoors and I feel like the DDW gives my clothing a distinct smell. Even after hanging for a week outside. Maybe it needs to be diluted more but IMO scent free detergent should be scent free.

I've always just used scent killer detergent and unscented dryer sheets, merely to remove my scent. Playing the wind will always be your main scent killer. I hope to get out this weekend and sit and glass my hunting spot from a distance...still not 100% on the main entry and exits

1st camera checked, 225 pictures. All of the same momma doe and two fawns with faint spots. On to the next one, maybe get a squirrel on the way.

I check my camera and had a lot of the same does on cam, and only 1 doe that didn't have a fawn with her. The 10 pt I am hoping to go after showed up twice this week still in day light, which is good! I also had 2 smaller little dink bucks pass thru during the week. I will try to post a couple pics of him later. As of now he will be the number 1 buck for me to go after.

This is him from a couple weeks ago, and I got a few pics this past week of him but he hasn't grown any more. I think he will shed his velvet any day now. uploadfromtaptalk1440901504914.jpg

Yeah he is one of two bucks I got on camera this summer that I would shoot. I was just hoping to get a monster come by, but it never happened this summer. I usually get at least one monster buck on camera every year!

This is a 8 pt that showed up. Until one day I was walking down the trail to my camera and he was bedded right on the trail and I walked into him. I scared the crap out of him, because he didn't here me or see me til I was 20 yards away. I have never got a pic of him since then. uploadfromtaptalk1440936938745.jpg

I'm feeling pretty good about my laundering protocol, but I'll leave the clothes by the feeder for the next week or so...just cause. uploadfromtaptalk1440957191506.jpg

I won't lie, couple handfuls of feed beneath doesn't hurt...and it's cheaper than evercalm.

Another camera set and set a couple more stands. It's on a farm that I haven't hunted much because of it's lack of timber. Scouted the outside of the corn field for sign and found a corner that has a lot of sign. Give it couple weeks and see what's coming through there and at what time. Seasons drawing nearer boys!

Hey guys sorry I've haven't been on much. My season opens in 4 days! I'm running way behind. I've been shooting all summer so I'm good there. I just need to find time to get my clothes washed and all my gear around. Not complaining, it just snuck up on me pretty quick! Hopefully I'll have some good luck this weekend!
