I have to admit, I'm rather surprised at some of the PMs and emails that I've been getting regarding Jeff being banned from Bowhunting.com. It appears that there is some misinformation and exaggerations of the truth going around, so let's get it out in the open and move on with our lives, shall we?

Jeff was banned from this site because his controversial posting has caused numerous problems in the past, and to date has caused several members to leave this site entirely and no longer post here. Most of those who left did so quietly and did not make it known why there were leaving but rest assured, this is why they left.

A group decision of staff members, moderators and employees of this company was made to ban his account for the long term good of the Forum. It was not my decision alone, however I am the one who enforced the action.

For those of you who say he was never warned or talked to in the past, we have records of multiple PMs from multiple mods over the span of several months, even years, addressing his behavior. Many of those came from me personally. So anyone who says he was never warned is clearly misinformed.

No, we are not trying to rule this site with an iron fist. No, we are not banning anyone who has a different opinion than us. No, we're not turning this into the "good old boys" club. What we are trying to do is ensure that members of this site have an enjoyable experience while partaking in these forums, that they continue to post here on a regular basis, and that new members continue to sign up and feel welcome when posting here.

I apologize to those of you who take offense to his banning. This was nothing personal against him or his opinions. This was purely a business decision in order to promote the long term positive attitude of Bowhunting.com. If anyone feels strongly enough about this that they are going to leave the website, I sincerely hope you rethink your position and change your mind.

This thread is being locked as it wasn't posted with the intent of starting a debate, but rather to air the truth of this situation straight from the horse's mouth (or keyboard in this case). As always, if you have any problems feel free to PM or email me and I'll do my best to respond in a timely fashion.

    Thanks - Justin
