Just getting my trail cameras out again. Hoping to see some good deer on the properties I am hunting in. One property I hunt with six other people but we have been able to decrease the pressure from years past and it showed last year with more deer harvest and increase in deer activity during the day all season.

I need to get 2 more cameras out!!

    I’ve been shooting about 100 + arrows a week.
Had a new “D”loop and serving along with D loop area.

I shoot at least one 3D course a week. 20-30 target course.

4 applications sent today, find out in September whether I get drawn. Not going to throw this opportunity out if drawn, will use all of my vacation time for it rather than the rut like normal.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, take it for what it is and utilize it!

I ended up going with Borderline Guide Service. Talked to the owner, very down to earth guy and upfront. Not a real big outfitter.

I need to get ALL of my cameras out LOL. Been fishing a bunch after work, been hot in IL so nothing better than getting on the water after work..... Gotta find a cool day for some deer-related work though!

Here in the office Justin has been teaching me to build my bow out, just got a lift-x this spring so he's showing me the ropes. Soon I'll be going for the 100 arrow mark.

Always thought looking for paddles would be a blast. Do you walk mostly? I've seen folks do it on snowmobiles but not sure if that's the norm.

Snowmobile would be the way to go if the paddles are on top of the snow. This year they dropped before the big snow fall, so they were all buried. Had to plan this trip with the snow melt. But alot of sheds get picked up by locals running roads and trails with Snowmobiles. The moose use the roads just like humans. Path of less resistance.

And here I am with only 4 packs of burger left in the freezer. I failed last year. I know what needs to be done this year.

I’ve been kind of laying low actually I’ve been lazy. Headed home from a family vacation Saturday then it’s time to get to work. Getting cameras out getting lanes cut and tree trim, bush hogging in preparation for plain food pots. Also gonna make a quick trip to Illinois to do some summer scouting from the truck and get an idea of what crops are planning next to public. Let it begin!

yea, the new Cell cam will go out shortly, heck squirrel season starts Aug. 15th, then dove Sept. 1st..... Ive got all my hunting clothes laundered already, so all I'll do is hang them outside to air out, prior to hunting... I'll start checking my stand tree locations (over 40 of 'em), I wont get to 'em all, but the primary locations will be checked to check this years viability, there will always be some storm damage ..
