Complete participation wins it. We didn't kill that many monsters but we always come close to completely tagging out

I let my team down last year. Ran out of freezer space so I couldn't justify shooting another. I'll do my best this year to help the team.

I have to agree with @bowhunt4abuck here. Anyone can kill does but there are some who won’t. What really puts the contest in the bag is everyone killing a doe and then killing a buck even if it’s not a big one.

Last year everyone on tram 5 killed a doe or a bonus buck and we posted 7 bucks. Four bucks posted scored 88 or below and only one of the seven scored over 120.

I realize most people won’t shoot a small buck for the contest and I don’t blame them, but if everyone on a team killed a doe and a 100” buck they would win every time.

I will have to get serious this year. Nothing but a 160+ buck and a doe.
OK I’m not that patient I am gonna try for a little bit bigger buck than last year. The last couple years. My first buck has been small. My second buck has been bigger.

Your chances of getting a big buck is much greater earlier if you can figure out there patterns. Once October hit's they go nocturnal for the most part.

I see big bucks early pretty consistent. it is usually the thousand foot drop and then 1000 foot climb to get to them. I do try. I’m not as young as I used to be. I also have two elk tags this year. Hopefully a deer gets in my way:bow:

And by this time last year we had 109 participants to date. Hopefully the email blast will get some traction.
