That’s great your shooting, I hope your knee heals up quickly and you have great mobility. Rehab is key! Both my parents had them done and I pushed them to the point they didn’t like me haha

I honestly haven't done anything to get ready. To busy working, and golfing.

I got new strings on the bow a few weeks back and built some of the same arrows I’ve been using. Just got down to Md this weekend and planted our plots. Got to the public land down there to swap out camera batteries as well! Countdown is on

Stands are all set and prepped. Only thing left to do is to keep shooting and finish dialing the now in now that I just got new arrows.

I’m walking a lot more now after my knee surgery but I have about 2 more weeks of walking on solid ground until I can get on some uneven ground.
(woods). Then it’s getting my knee stronger to be able to climb a tree. And use my climber.
Should be around the 2 nd week of October.
Right now I can walk up steps (slow). Going down not yet It’s coming thou.

Gotta be ready for archery season. I went for a drive this morning. I saw some does. No velvet thou. The one doe was a very big girl. She had 2 large fawns also. They were coming back from a soy bean field.
As soon as I can I’m gonna walk that woods to the bean field.

last year was a banner year for acorns on the place I hunt, this season... meh.... just got back from hanging another cam and checking 4 stand trees/locations .. a few of the yearly scrapes have activity around 'em, that's where the cam went ... unsure of the pressure back in there, Ive only hunted squirrels on that side of the place... no squirrel hunting when archery opens back there either .. darn heat is coming back starting tomorrow and nearly next week ....

I'll head back there next weekend and get some more walk-bys done checking several more stand locations, a lot of walking to do ... got to mow today among other crap to get done at home... clothes are all ready, need to wash the fanny pack/air it out for a week outside and reload it .. still gotta wait till at least Oct. 1st or later depending on weather .. I dont get as worked up about the opener/early season like I use too ... its gonna get really busy on the place, Dove, early Teal/Goose opens Sept. 1st there, also Rail and Snipe season ...

Kill-plot is starting to come in good. Love seeing twin fawns on the property and good young bucks in velvet! 1000004648.jpg 1000004618.jpg

Where you at in avl? We're not too far from there, we're having an opening day hunt and mid day cook out the Saturday before Thanksgiving if you're free.

You're 2 hours from me, which ain't much for that pretty of a drive. If I can pull that off, I'd love to and appreciate the invite!
