Summer is winding down, social media is full of velvet clad antlers and the anticipation is building up to that first trip to our favorite spots. What's everybody doing to prepare? For me, I have to get to shooting and tuning broadheads. New strings have been sitting on my bow for a few months now, so I have minor kinks to work out. It's right around the corner.
Focus is definitely on elk at the moment I probably won’t get to whitetails til the end of November but just shooting a lot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Shooting and hanging stands is all I have left to do. I have nothing on camera yet worth shooting. Season begins in about a month and a half here.
I'm trying to get eyes and or trail cam pics of as many good bucks as I can. I need to start picking up my shooting.
Getting rid of last years venison and getting 2 stands up is as far as I’ve gotten, pulled 1 camera Has a bunch of does on it. Need to get my bow out this week.
I have gotten my cameras out on my private piece and trying to get eyes on a giant around the public spots I intend to hunt this year. Really want to get my first public buck this year. I got a new bow and have been enjoying shooting that it’s about time to check the broad head flight. I have lots of venison left myself pry gona give some to my family to make room. We will see how much I can eat in the next few months I got more burger then I usually do mostly. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Put in a couple of extra days of summer scouting. I have a couple of trail cameras to put out. Hoping, to get that done next weekend along with some extra scouting.
Cameras are out seeing some good activity. Got new strings on the bow, just shooting and tweaking it in. Headed to Kansas tomorrow to check stands and clear shooting lanes.
Started a new rope scrape today and put up a ladder stand close by. Easy spot to access for my daughter who turns 8 this week.
Well , with 100 acres of alfalfa that was cut and has new growth, with JUST 1 doe and 2 fawn seen on it since it was first planted. Doing very little. Did put one cam on an old scrape I saw fresh prints in. Need to repair a few blinds, thats it. I am going with very low expectations and hoping I am my usual wrong...lol
My order from Lancaster Archery just showed up: A new Spot Hogg Wiseguy release and everything I need to build a dozen new hunting arrows. Now I have something to do inside besides watch TV while it’s so hot outside. My current release is The Wiseguy also (I love it) but since my daughter’s boyfriend lost the TruFire Hardcore that was my back-up I decided to get another Wiseguy so my back-up would be the same.
Good call on release. Ive been very interested in getting that exact one. I too just scored a sweet deal on a dozen shafts from ebay. Should be here in a few days, then i can build them up. All most that time of the year buddy! Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I’ve been shooting The Wiseguy for a couple of years now and I can’t say enough good things about it. I was a bit skeptical about the Bolo strap, but I’ve really come to love it. Easy on (even in total darkness), easy off and rock solid.
I need to go check on the plots I put out this Spring and put cams out yet. Heard of some good ones running around.
I bought one of the BOLO universal's and put it on my Truefire release, absolutely love it. After I tried it out, I bought another one for my kid and he really likes it too.
I need to prep a few stands, shoot, and get some fresh batteries in all the dead cameras I have out. Grateful to be on the verge of another season.
Love my wiseguy with the bolo strap. Last year, I needed a good release and, after talking to LC about his, I bought one. Fantastic release.
