So what is everyone's take on the idea @cls74 had above? The second place team stays together the following year as a rematch with the Champs who beat them?

I’ve been on a couple fun second place teams that i wish could have stayed together for sure, so I think it’s not a horrible idea. I don’t think going any further than second place is a good idea though, and if we do do that I actually like the 3 year rule better because getting first or second place to keep your team seems a lot easier and some team shuffle does feel more what the contest is about.

I agree. The jury in my own mind is out on this one, but it's not an unreasonable idea.

I'm trying to figure out how to drop to 8 person teams this coming season. I had initially said that I would stay with my current returning champs team and we would drop to 8 person teams next year, but if I do that and my team loses (unlikely, but possible ) then the new champs would have a team of nine and in my mind it would be unfair to ask one of them to step down.

The only way I can figure out how to get to 8 person teams this year or next year is for me to leave the team I'm on now. I've heard everyone who said I should still participate and I'll go back on what I said and commit to participating in the contest in the future. This season though, if I step away from my team I won't compete against them.

The best solution I can come up with is that I stay with my team but my kills don't count. If my team wins I get included in the "three-peat" even though I didn't kill anything this year. If my team loses, no problem. Next year's returning champs have 8 members and I get what I want.

I know my teammates won't like this, but what do you all think? Is there a better option to get to 8 person teams?

No one wants you to step down but it's a great solution and you will be apart of the team either way. I appreciate your sacrifice.
